In 2011, Mantiqueira de Minas was recognised as a Geograpihcal Indication (GI) area and any coffee produced there holds the Mantiqueira de Minas Indication of Origin seal, granted by the Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI), which guarantees the origin, the source of the coffee lot. This coffee is a blend of yellow bourbon and yellow catuai from producers in the Mantiqueira de Minas area which is milled and exported by the Cooperado da Cooperativa Regional dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde Ltda (COCARIVE)
